Treatment of Spouse and Children Accompanied by Foreign National Dispatched to Japan
All people residing in Japan who are not younger than the age of 20 but younger than the age of 60 are treated as insured persons of the Japanese national pension, regardless of their nationalities or periods of stay. However, when a person temporarily dispatched to Japan from the partner country continues to participate in the social security system of the partner country and is exempted from participation in the Japanese social security system, the spouse and children accompanied by the person who are residing in Japan are also exempted from participation in the Japanese pension system so long as they live with and are supported by that person.
